HOW WE GOT HERE
It started in the 1980s, seeking a real-time solution to inactivate biological pathogens to protect military personnel from risks of biological warfare. Lamp efficiency, size of electronics components and energy consumptions were a major obstacle in production and field implementations. Over the years, we have seen advancements in UVC technology that have led to improvements in lamp efficiency, lifespan, and safety. New lamp designs and UVC-emitting diodes (UV LEDs) have been developed, offering more compact and energy-efficient options for UVC germicidal applications.
During the COVID-19 years, the importance of UVC technology for germicidal applications was further highlighted. Our UVC devices gained significant attention for their potential to help disinfect surfaces, air, and personal protective equipment in healthcare settings and public spaces. This led us to our latest generation of the Virus Reduction Systems (VRS) product line.
